REFORMER PILATES.

Location:

138 Puckle Street, Moonee Ponds

At Flow Lab. Studio, we start and end each class connecting with our body and mind. Whether that be via stillness and a simple meditation, or working with the breath as we stretch and warm up/cool down. Our classes are strength based but not in a gym way, in a Pilates way. At Flow Lab we aim to blend a Classical and Contemporary Pilates practice. Our classes are full of energy, laughter and great tunes.

  • FOR: First timer, Beginner, Progressive to Intermediate, Pregnancy friendly, Injury friendly.

WHAT: Fundamentals is just that, the fundamental movements of the Reformer Pilates repertoire. We blend a contemporary and sometimes classical method of Pilates training.

This session will help you understand the basics, and how to make them not so basic as you progress into an intermediate practice. In this class you will learn how to use a reformer correctly, how to move your body correctly, and how to transition from one move to the next without the pace of Reformer Flow.

You will learn the basic Pilates principals, connecting mind, body & breath. We work through shorter flows with more frequent breaks, enabling you exit the room feeling accomplished and filled with knowledge.

  • FOR: Intermediate, progressive to advanced. Not suitable for beginners, pregnancy, or injuries (unless we have been managing them from a fundamental progression).

WHAT: Reformer Flow is our signature Flow Lab. Reformer Pilates practice. By now, you know and understand the fundamentals, and have and intermediate to advanced level of strength and understanding. The flows are longer, more dynamic and we transition & layer from one movement to the next with minimal body position change, spring change or rest. Our aim, for you to be completely absorbed by your pilates practice enabling you to find your flow state.

  • FOR: All Levels.

WHAT: Reformer Stretch is a 45 minute class using the reformer and various prop aids. Stretch and release your body with this flowing stretch class. We use the reformer for resistance and support to lengthen and mobilise your muscles and joints. Stretching is a perfect way to reduce tight and tense muscles, increases flexibility and aids in recovery.

  • FOR: Not suitable for first timers, pregnancy, or injuries. Suitable for all other levels.

WHAT: Reformer Power is our strength training class. We incorporate functional fitness movements, push and pull, and moments of heart rate lifting sequences to challenge endurance and train progressive overload. Don't expect too much fluff in this class, it’s GO time.
